Use of Hermite Functions in Applied Fourier Analysis

Abstract

New numerical method for Fourier transform calculation based on Hermite series expansion will be presented. Some properties of Hermite functions and implementation of fast algorithms by this approach will be examined. Applications of this method will be illustrated with Fourier filtering problems and diffraction data treatment for liquid and amorphous metals.
