Prerequisites:  STP421 or a strong background in probability, for instance at the level of EEE350, or permission of the instructor.
Homework: Every week the homework problems for the sections covered the previous week are due on thursday.
Quizzes:   Every week thursday there will be a  20 point quiz on the material covered up to date.  One problem will be taken directly from the homework.
Exams:   There will be a midterm exam worth 100 points and a final exam worth 200 points.
Class Participation:   Class participation is required to make this course fly. This should take a number of different forms, including intellegent, informed questions asked in class. To receive class credit for your questions (5 points each), however, they should be:


a) asked in class

b) answered in class

c) questions and answers emailed to the instructor for posting on this website (text, MS Word, or latex, hopefully)
