Mathematics and Cognition Seminar
"The Swimmer"
by Bill Uttal
Emeritus, Department of Industrial Engineering
This talk reviews the history of one of ASU's pioneering efforts to develop
a visually guided autonomous underwater navigational system. Based on the
assumption that combining multiple attributes of the stimulus scene was the
most effective guiding principle, the project went from algorithmic
development to simulations to actual field tests with a little yellow
submarine. All will be revealed in today's presentation.
