Transportation
options from Sky Harbor Airport, estimates, and helpful telephone numbers
Here is some useful information on the
different transportation options one has upon arriving at the Sky
Harbor Airport. For a more complete look on these services please
refer to the Ground Transportation
link below.
-
The three cab companies
listed below are contracted by the Sky Harbor Airport and should
already be available at the waiting line for your convenience. The
following is a list of their
phone numbers (just in case) and the approximate charges for a trip from
the airport to the
intersection of Rural Road and Apache Boulevard.
-- AAA Cab
(602) 437-4000 $15-20
-- Yellow Cab
(602) 252-5252 $12-14
-- Courier Cab
(602) 232-2222 $12-14
-
Super Shuttle service is a 24-hour
airport-to-door service that is the cheapest if one travels alone.
It averages to be about $10/person and leaves the airport at least every
15 minutes. The Super Shuttle guides usually stand in the waiting
line, and depending on your destination, will find the shuttle for you
over their portable radios.
-
If you'd like to try something different,
there are also limousines available. Suprisingly, they might turn
out to be not nearly as expensive as one would imagine. Please check
the Ground Transportation link below for more information.
Travel
tips & notes
1. To let you know, outside temperatures
during the conference may be as high as 110 degrees
Fahrenheit
or 43 degrees Celsius. It is also very dry usually and thus dehydration
can be a
major problem.
Please drink a lot of water.
2. A note about the Phoenix
telephone area codes. Silly, but we have three of them: 602, 480,
and 623.
ASU is within the 480 zone. So, if you are trying to reach someone,
do not be
discouraged
if a message tells you your call cannot be put through. Also, the
message
usually
states the correct area code for that number.
