August 21	Welcome to MTE 483. Check here regularly for announcements.
March 5	The midterm will be on Monday-Tuesday, March 24-25 in the Mathematics Testing Center. Be sure to check out the times and policies on their website before going. The exam will cover the following: Problems from Homeworks 1-8 and variations of these problems Questions on the Schoenfeld article on problem solving Identification of the mathematical structure in word problems Interpretation of algebraic expressions in solutions and the solution process of generalized word problems Questions from Quizzes You may take as much time as you like within the hours of the testing center. No calculators will be allowed on the test. I will ask you to sign a confidentiality statement certifying that you have not discussed the test with anyone who has already taken it and agreeing that after you take the test you will not discuss any aspect of it with any other classmate.
April 22	The final exam will be given Friday, May 2 from 10:00 am - 11:50 am in PSA 303. The final will cover Material from the first half of the semester (see list above on midterm topics) Problems from Homeworks 9-13 and variations of these problems (nb: Homework 11, Problem 2) Content from class discussions on problems from Homeworks 9-13 Questions from quizzes No additional time beyond that scheduled will be allowed, so be sure to pace your work appropriately. No calculators or notes will be allowed.
