Midterm 2

Midterm 2

Your corrected exam is due Friday, November 21.

  1. The diagram should look like the following:
Triangle Picture
Hint: Use trig ratios, s, and 6 to find various lengths, then use the Pythagorean theorem to relate the variables r and s.
  1. Hint: θ is the difference of two angles, both of which can easily be expressed as the arctangent of some expression.
  1. Be sure to label x and y coordinates for all important points.
  1. Make sure Δx, Δy, dx, and dy appear properly in the picture. Refer to these quantities in your explanation.
  1. Make sure everything is represented and labeled in the picture.
  1. Be careful about your reason for part b.
  1. Hint: v(t)=p’(t). Also, you cannot find an antiderivative, so this must be done with differentials. Be sure to give an explanation.
  1. Remember to get things in the form ∞/∞ or 0/0 before applying L’Hospital’s rule.
  1. Don’t forget to include the constants of integration in the antiderivatives and solve for them by plugging in t=0. Note: you cannot just set them equal to the numbers given in the problem.
