Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering
(MBE) is a quarterly international journal focusing on new developments
in the fast-growing fields of mathematical biosciences and engineering. Areas
covered include general mathematical methods and their applications in biology,
medical and biomedical sciences and engineering with an emphasis on work related
to mathematical modeling, nonlinear, and stochastic dynamics. The editorial
board of MBE is strongly committed to promoting cutting-edge, integrative
and interdisciplinary research bridging mathematics, life sciences and engineering. Research ArticlesPaper submitted to this journal must contain a comprehensive introductory section and an in-depth discussion section. The scientific importance and motivations of the paper and its conclusions should be made clear at the outset. Furthermore, the paper must be presented in a way that its main results, methods together with their applicability, can be comprehended by people from a wide range of scientific fields. Papers oriented toward experimentation or numerical simulation must have a novel and sound theoretical explanation. Survey Articles and Mini-reviewsIn addition to reporting original research, the journal will publish authoritative survey articles of specific topics written by leading researchers in the field to keep you informed about the latest advances in the fields of mathematical biosciences and engineering. To ensure balanced views, mini-reviews on selected papers appearing in the journal will be published from time to time. Speedy Publication and Internet AccessibilityThe journal is committed to a rapid yet rigorous reviewing processes to ensure fast access to latest research results of significance in the fields of mathematical biosciences and engineering. We will try best to publish manuscripts, on average, within five months of submission. The journal will maintain a Web site containing all print volumes and other important and additional materials. Other Special FeaturesTo ensure and enhance readability of articles, authors are required to provide a brief paragraph (up to 150 words) describing background references. The authors are encouraged to provide a short paragraph (up to 150 words) describing their current research interests, education background and professional experience. The editors will regularly solicit papers in focused areas to form special issues. Paper of the Year Award
To recognize exceptional quality work
of scientists, especially those in their early career stage, the journal
will establish the PAPER OF THE YEAR Award for an original article
published in the Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering. The decision
on the Paper of the Year for each given year will be made by the Editors-in-Chief
in consultation with the editorial board of the journal and will be announced
in the first issue of the subsequent year volume. Nomination of this award
will be sought from the editorial board. The authors each will receive a
certification and one year of free subscription to this journal. A joint journal of AIMS and
