Hi, my dear classmates,
I have been missed you guys very much. :)
I got the email address, and added what else I know.
Merry Christmas!
I have been here, in Florida, for more then 7 years.
Florida suppose to be a good place to come in winter.
But, so far, only Lin Nong and ShouYu Zhang (Tang XiueQing's husband)
met
me here.
-- I feel lonely here. :)
You guys all are warmly welcome.
It takes about 2 hours to drive north to Disney World from my home.
By the way, I think we should have someone to maintain our address list.
I'd like to do this, if I had internet access from here.
-- Although I'm working as a programmer, but I do not have internet
access
here. :(

It's wonderful to get your response. Good idea to keep our address alive
at
internet. What about Kuang Yang's homepage:
Homepage: http://math.la.asu.edu/~kuang
I assume he'll be there for ever and we will jump around for a penny
salary
increase. I encourage all of you
to visit the site anyway for his family's lively photo. Too bad I don't
know how to have a homepage.
My husband enjoyed visit Huang Ke so much that he will bring his mother
and
two sons with him to his house
again coming the week of 1/18/99. I haven't made my decision yet because
my
husband wants to use the
oppertunity to show me how a good wife should look like. If any of
you
think you're or get a good hubby, I would like
to visit instead.

Hello, everyone,
We are all in good holiday spirit today.
I have visited many countries and states and I can assure you that I
indeed
have no plan to move in the foreseeable future(or for ever as Xueqing
stated).
So, I wil accept the
assignment from Xueqing to creat and maintain a homepage for 801. Just
keep me
posted and I will keep you all informed(via 801 homepage). I will start
the
construction this week.
I will need your phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and homepage addresses(if
any).
If you want, I can also post some of your pictures.

Hi, everybody,
This is Wu Qiang from Beijing, China.
I received email from Huang Ke, and got to know your address.
It was very long time since you went to US. These years, Chen Jia and
I have
been working together to run a software company in China. And the company
becomes very successful in the market. It now has more than 110 staff
and
three offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and more then 100 big
customers from all over China. If you are interested, you may visit
http://www.case.com.cn to see more information.
BUT we got a big change in the beginning of 1998. During the later of
1997,to try to win a big project of 60 Million RMB, we took a risk
to sell
the company share to the customer and finally won the project. However,
there comes some problems also. Due to some problem with the customer
managers re the management aspects, Chen Jia has finally left the company
and later set up his own company in April 1998, while I am still in
the
company as the vice president.
Anyway, both of us are good. And I also often think of your guys although
I
seldom got the news from you.
Time flies...
In this Oct., my wife and I had a 20-days trip around US, and we have
been
many cities in USA. However, it was pity that I did not have your contact
information. By chance, I will again go over US, New Orleans and LA
perhaps,
during the coming Feb., if anyone of you is interested in meeting or
phone-talking with me, please send your contact information.
And also you are welcome to come back China to see what it is now.
Best regards,
Wu Qiang

Hi:
Nice surprise to see so many of our 801 classmates exchanges.
I just checked out Kuang Yang's homepage and his cute family photo.
I see three more entries:
Qu ShaoHong is in California, at Qualcomm, squ@qualcomm.com.
Du Qiang is still enjoying in Hong Kong, madu@uxmail.ust.hk
Wang RongGuang is at Carnegie Mellon, wang5@andrew.cmu.edu
I have been at Salomon (Salomon Brothers then Salomon Smith Barney)
for about two years. The company is now part of Citigroup, after the
merger of Travelers and Citicorp (parent of citibank). I am in the
Emerging Markets Research group, doing modelling/strategy type of
work. In terms of personal life, still not married,
though I have been happily engaged (more or less) for a while.
It has not been too cold here in NYC (only about 40F compared to that
of
over 70F in the sunny Florida), if any of you have plans to visit
NYC, please let me know. Would be great to see old friends.
My best wishes to you and your family for a prosperous new year!

Hi, everybody,
This is Wu Qiang again.
The Internet makes the world small and people closer than ever. These
days,
I got so many email from our 801 classmates, which reminded me a lot
about
our collage life more than 10 years ago.
With reference to the guys in the remaining list in Shao Ping's mail,
I know
some of them who are in Beijing.
1)Lu San Lian: He has been Canada for some while to further study, but
unfortunately his wife who was in Beijing got a bad ill, so Lu quitted
studying in Canada and came back Beijing 2 or moe years ago. He is
now
working the Mathematics Magazine as the editor. I do not current
have his
email, I believe he should have, I will try to find and update with
the 801
page.
2)Zhang Jiang Hua: He has graduated with Ph D. at the Guang Xi Ming
Zhu
University, and he is now the chief director of a institute in the
university.
3)Li Feng Gang: He has moved into Beijing with his wife. He is working
in a
telecom company.
4)Deng Mi Ke: She is enjoying to be mother, and working in Beijing Computer
Institute.
5)Jiang Xiang Feng: I met with Jiang some years ago, he still worked
in Hang
Zhou University, and also joined a company as part-time, I have his
phone
number. But I will update with you when I am back in Beijing. (Now
I am in
Hong Kong)
6)You Guang Rong: He is an officer in some institute of National Defense
Industry. I met with him 2 years ago.
7)Bao Yun Jie: He is still in Beijing. But I do not have his detail
information.
8)Zhang Jun: Do you remember this guy? He left 801 for other department
very
early. He has been in France for many years and come back Beijing for
living
2 years ago. He is working in some IT company.
Some more, I will update with you when I sort it out.
Re the 801 page, I suggest that it is better to add more information
line
for each person, e.g. family status or work status etc., so that the
page
may be an album of 801. For those who has not been provided detail
information, I suggest to list them on the page so as to remind us
there
were these guys as our classmates.
Anyway, I am very happy to receive so much information about you, 801
classmates. I myself will perhaps again visit US during the coming
Feb., I
hope to try meet with some of you and have phone talk with some of
you also.
Wish you happy New Year. May 1999 see all of you a good life.
Best Regards,
Wu Qiang

Hello, everyone. I like Wu_Qiang's idea of building an album for our
801
classmates.
Here is my current status:
I have been happily married to my wife Chen_Jingling for 10.5 years.
We have two beautiful and lovely daughters Joyce (4.5 years old) and
Lydia
(2 years old).
I now work for American Century Investments (a mutual fund company,
its
flagship fund is 20th century Ultra fund) as Database Marketing Manager.
My home address is: 8403 West 127th Place, Overland Park, KS 66213,
USA.
My phone numbers are: (913) 681-7642 (H); (816) 340-7795 (O).
I am very proud to say that I have met more 801 classmates than anyone
of
you in the last few years. Through attending conferences, seminars
and
meetings, I have stayed in Wang_MingQinag's house in Boston, met his
beautiful wife and handsome boy; gone to Chang_ShaoPing's home in Los
Angels, met his beautiful wife and handsome boy; met with Liang_Hong
and
Liu_XiaoBo for coffee in New York city; had dinner with Ma_Ling and
his
beautiful girl friend in New York city; had a chat with Huang_JiaWu
at his
work place in New York city; stayed in Huang_Ke's house in Palm Beach
of
Florida, met his beautiful wife and beautiful daughter; had HuoGuo
buffet
dinner with Shen_Ying in San Francisco; gone to Li_HongNian's house
in
Chicago suburb, met his beautiful wife and handsome boy Jordon. Of
course
when Li_HongNian lived in St. Louis, both of our families invited each
other many times. Last July, I missed the opportunity to meet Pan_LiuHua
in
Philadelphia, I got his home number on Friday, my plane had to leave
in
that afternoon. But I did talk to him after I got back home. I hope
I shall
be able to meet more of you in the coming years.
Here is Pan_LiuHua's home phone number: (610) 896-5895. Kuang_Yang might
want to add this to the Class801 home page.
It is so wonderful to communicate with my fellow classmates after so
many
years. Especially when I met some of you, I just wanted to talk to
you for
the whole night. So be prepared to stay up late, when I visit you next
time.

Hello, everyone,
very glad to get known the homepage of USTC801
and can get connect
with so many old classmates.
many of you may don't know where i am now
and what i have done these
years and now. let me describe these a little
as following:
I am now in Japan ( I think i am the only
one in 801 who is living
here).
I left Maths. Dept.of USTC and come
to Univ. Tokyo in 1994 and got th
PhD degree in March, 1998, then entered
the Nikko Securities Co.
I have a son, Zhang jiong, he now is 8 yrs
old.
in the passed year, mainly I did a lot of
analysis about various
forwards ( index, bond, interest, currency,
commodity etc.) along with
options. I will change to a new section
and do analysis on the
performance of fund in the new year.
this is the last working day this yr
in japan, you may already enjoy
your vacation by now. I just wish the new
year is the best year for
everyone:
Happy New Year!
yours sincerely
Zhang Zhongliang
