Title: Control of Epidemics with a Core Group

Abstract: Many epidemics, in particular with sexually transmitted diseases, are dominated by a core group in which the disease is particularly virulent. By means of mathematical models we show that this core group should be treated with highest priority. This holds for control by vaccination, isolation or educational compaigns.
