Topic: On the Brailovsky-Sivashinsky model for combustion
and relations to spread of rumors.

Abstract: Brailovsky and Sivashinsky have proposed a model for
pressure-driven combustion in a porous medium (deflagration as opposed to
detonation) using temperature, pressure and reactant. Br'ezis, Kamin and
Sivashinsky have drastically simplified the model  to a degenerate diffusion
system for pressure and  temperature alone.
We can treat the original problem and get existence and uniqueness of
travelling front solutions. The system can perhaps be interpreted as a
model for the spread of rumors.
