Special Programs at ASU
- Center for Research on Education in Science,
Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology (CRESMET)
a center for creating and sharing new knowledge, supporting educators, and
advocating research-based education policies in K-20 science,
mathematics, engineering and technology (STEM) education
- Computational Biosciences Program
(CBS)
an interdisciplinary program spanning ten departments. Students in the
Math department can earn Master's and Doctoral degrees with this program.
- Math-Science Honors Program
provides high school students a chance to study university mathematics and
science. The program is designed to
provide a successful university experience for students from
underrepresented groups and to enhance their prospects for future academic
success.
- Mathematical and Theoretical Biology Institute (MTBI)
provides sequential student-driven research experiences for
undergraduate students in applied mathematics, statistics and biology.
- Rocky Mountain Mathematics Consortium (RMMC)
an organization of universities in the Rocky Mountain region
for promoting research and education in mathematics.
- Environmental Fluid Dynamics Program (PEFD)
an interdisciplinary program for faculty, staff, and students
who are interested in scholarly activities related to Environmental
Fluid Dynamics.
- SCISM the
Summer Certification Institute in Secondary Mathematics is a summer program
which allows students earning a BS to also become certified
to teach mathematics at a secondary school.
- Interdisciplinary Atmospheric Sciences Certificate Program,
a certificate program for students enrolled in other graduate programs at ASU to do interdisciplinary work,
especially in high performance computing of environmental flows
- Interdisciplinary Training for Undergraduates in Biological
and Mathematical Sciences at ASU (UBM),
a training program that intimately combines ongoing research projects, new cross-disciplinary courses and summer
research programs in life sciences, mathematics, and biophysics.
