Online screening test for prospective Control agents
By Nandor Sieben

So you want to be a Control agent? Do you know the name of the most dangerous Chaos agent? If you do, then test your knowledge at http://calculus.la.asu.edu/~sieben/htm2tst/tests/sample/sample.tst.html
Warning: you need to find a derivative. If you do not know then it is even more important to check out the above site and learn this important piece of information.
Why would a math teacher be interested in the above ad? Because this screening test was created by the online test preparation system htm2tst which helps with the creation of web based math projects, tutorials and tests. Tests created by the system were used in Sharon Walker's brief calculus classes and in Paul Vaz's finite mathematics and brief calculus classes. I created extra credit assignments for my calculus students. Tests can be fully automatic, graded by the computer or partially hand graded. Tests are taken and graded from an internet browser.  There could be several question types in a test: multiple choice, word answer, numerical answer, formula, explanation.  After submission, a student can get immediate feedback from the computer. Test pages can be chained together creating a multiple page, answer dependent tutorial.  The program is written in Perl and should work on any unix computer.
